I'm Just A Guy who thought this would be easy. I figured . . .

I know enough about computers to create my own website.

I can get set up with a couple affiliate programs.

I can learn to hand code html and set up my own website, virtually free!

I can get top listing in the search engines in no time.

I can be as successful from internet sales as the others.

Well . . .

I was partially right.

I do know enough (at least now) to create my own website.

I am set up with (several) affiliate programs.

I have learned to code html and set up my own website (not exactly free).

I did figure out how to get top search engine placement.

Successful from internet sales? What do you consider successful?

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Stuart Bolender.

I've been working with computers for about ten years now, and started working with website design just a few years ago.

I have kind of become a "go-to-guy" in my own circles as the one who can figure things out.

I don't really think it matters that you know who I am, but I do think it matters that you know I am for real.

There are so many people searching for the best way to start their own website and having trouble finding it.

You may very well be one of them.
If so, you should know that you are not the first and you certainly won't be the last one looking for somebody to share at least some of the information that they have learned during the process.

I'm telling you it can be a real letdown to think you are finally onto something only to find it is nothing.

If you're looking for shortcuts, you'll run into this repeatedly.

This portion of this website was not planned. It was an afterthought to help you and others like you.

Maybe with my help, you can build your website without the trouble I seemed to have had.

You see, I often had a hard time figuring out where to go and who to trust.

Researching what to do next, and where to do it, can be one of the most time consuming things you'll encounter.

Even if you take your time, you can get suckered into some things, and it doesn't hit you until it's too late.

You don't have to make the same mistakes I have if you, Use These Resources!

I have tried to give you the most basic information I can possibly offer in order to keep things "simple".

I've learned that there are a lot of dirty little secrets in internet marketing.

There's a lot of crap floating around out there that doesn't deliver anything.

I've bought a lot of it. You shouldn't have to.
In fact . . . I shouldn't have had to.

The problem was that I honestly knew there was nothing to this.

Any moron (why not me?) with a computer could do this.

I look back now, and realize how much easier it would have been with the right direction.

I actually bought a course that told me I could get a million visitors to my site . . . Free!

I see now that this is ridiculous. If the million visitors are free, why did I need to buy the course?

Even worse, they wanted me to subscribe to a safelist service so I could be a spammer (basically).

This wasn't at all what I had in mind. I hate spam and I certainly wasn't stooping to that (and still won't).

I bought a ready-made e-commerce website of my very own, already set up and everything.

All I had to do was pick out the products I wanted to sell.

I can't even tell you what the mile-long meaningless name of that site was.

That's a problem. If I can't remember it, how would anyone else?

Needless to say, I had no success with that wonderful site. Another expensive lesson.

I could go on, but I'm sure you are getting my point.

Don't get hooked into these sort of things.

Don't let youself be convinced that it's a good thing.

While they may sound great at the time, they are completely worthless in the real world.

Something for nothing should be just that. Free. Not for any price. Just free.

So far, in a little over a year, I've only found a couple things of any value that are really free.

One is no longer available.

The other is the Affiliate Masters Course that you can get through this site.

I've paid for everything else, and trust me, only some of it is worth buying.

(By the way, the best thing I have paid for is still the Super Affiliate Handbook by Rosalind Gardner.)

There are some good legitimate resources here.

I won't lead you to junk. There are plenty of others that will do that for you.

Use the Coffee Cup Software to create your own website.

Set up your accounts with the affiliate programs.

Learn how to use them with the Super Affiliate Handbook.

There are methods better than hand coding html for web design.
Nowadays people use a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor.
These editors allow you to flip back and forth to actually see the html, which will help you learn it.

Better yet, use Site Build It! and all you need is plain old English.

For server-side programming, maybe you would like to Learn PHP Online Zend Technologies.

Top search engine placement actually is fairly easy. It's called pay-per-click.

The "successful" part depends on your own persistance and determination.

A Special Note About Traffic: (From my experience, this is my opinion.)
This is sometimes a hugely overlooked factor that is literally the single most critical factor in the success (or failure) of a website.

No matter how you plan on getting traffic, You Must Have Traffic!

It is significant that you are here now.

Why?

Because I am not so far from where you are. I haven't completely forgotten just how difficult it really is to know what to do next, who to believe, and where to spend your money.

As I have mentioned, it has taken me a little over a year, part time to get my website to where it is now.
